After two long weeks of final projects and exams for graduate school, it was nice to finally take a stroll through another New York City site–The Cloisters!
The Cloisters, if you’ve never been, is definitely a unique experience. I found the architecture of the museum completely mesmerizing. It is located on top of a hill in Fort Tryon Park, so I wanted to be comfortable walking around the museum as well as through the park.
I decided to rock my lounge pants that are pretty much a staple for me during transitional weather. This was a chilly morning on an overcast day, so it seemed like the perfect day to wear them. Lounge pants, in my own opinion, are the perfect kinds of pants. They are loose fitting, flexible and comfortable–plus can be worn in numerous ways!
My navy blue lounge pants are from Uniqlo, which I paired with a beige Airism tank top also from Uniqlo– (not sponsored by the way—I just really like their clothes). I went with a pair of women’s loafers that are perfect for walking and added a bit of texture to my outfit as well as a clutch from Madison West. Both those items were purchased at DSW.
Of course for some added comfort and warmth, I wrapped it all up in a cozy knitted grey and white sweater from Target. The added layer made a great difference when walking through the park.
Now that the semester is over, the last couple of weeks of August feels infinite. Hopefully, I can make couple more posts before the semester starts up again. We’ll see. Thank you for visiting and I hoped you were inspired! Till our next adventure! 🙂
After cleaning out my wardrobe last weekend, I realized that I had a few t-shirts that I wanted to keep purely for the design. So, I decided to revamp a couple to wear on casual day trips around the city–like to American Museum of Natural History! (Also known as the best place on Earth :D).
I recycled this particular t-shirt to create a thin strap racerback tank top, which is perfect to wear with a bandeau, a lace bralette or over a bikini as a beach coverup! During the summer time, loose fitting pieces are usually my go to, especially on humid sticky days.
My casual outfit for today consists of my favorite light-wash denim shorts from Kohl’s, a now racerback tank top of a band that I just love (Andrew Jackson Jihad) and a pink lace bandeau from Aerie by American Eagle. My shoes are slip-on sneakers from Vans but I purchased them at DSW.
I cannot take any credit for the design though. I did a lot of research on Youtube looking at different ideas that previous people have done when I came across The Sorry Girls’ channel. This is the link to their DIY video to create this exact thin strap racerback from an old t-shirt (DIY T-SHIRT TO RACERBACK).
Have an awesome rest of the week. Thank you for stopping by and for checking out this week’s outfit and adventure. 🙂
Till next time!
Summer is finally here!! What better way to spend a warm day this weekend then at South Street Seaport.
Summer to me means dresses! A fun, colorful dress is my top choice on warm or hot days and is a staple of my summer wardrobe. There are many variations and styles of dresses out there that you cannot go wrong.
I decided to take my maxi strapless dress from winter retirement back out in the sun for the first time today! Maxi dresses are usually my top pick because it is so easy to just slip on that combine comfort and trendy. Plus, their thin fabric and loose fitting style are perfect for those hot, humid, sticky days of summer.
I bought my maxi dress on sale a couple of summers ago at an independent NYC store called Purdy Girl. The bohemian pattern of the dress is what really caught my eye. I love the blend of deep green and maroon that just screams summer–plus it’s strapless–perfect for sunbathing. Haha. 🙂
Till next weekend’s adventure!
What better way to spend an overcast Sunday than at the movies? Well, that is exactly what friends and I did today. Can you guess which movie?
Haha, that’s my most fiercest Wonder Woman pose. (Still working on the fierceness.)
I decided to keep it casual today with colors that represented none other than Wonder Woman. Gold, red, and blue are complimentary colors and also the main colors on Wonder Woman’s costume.
I paired a deep red sleeveless shirt from H&M over a navy blue tank top from Uniqlo. The jeggings, from Abercombie & Fitch, added the casual feel to the outfit and kept the blue undertone going. The golden earrings from Clarie’s were my central piece that brought the whole outfit together. As for my shoes, of course, I went with my golden flats from DSW once more. (I might need to buy new shoes.)
Though my outfit was very casual and simple this weekend, I had a lot of fun creating it. Hopefully the nicer the weather gets the more experimental I can be with my outfits. I rebuild my wardrobe with many pieces, which I am excited to try out this summer. 🙂
Hope y’all had a wonderful weekend and as always–till next time!
