What an amazing Saturday! The sun was shining and the temperature was just wonderful! A perfect day for a walk through New York City’s most iconic park–Central Park!
I love white lace and jeans. The combination of those two delivers a soft girl-next-door look perfect for a walk through the park. My aim was to stay soft and unrestricted, especially since I already planned on climbing rocks and lamposts. The floral lace top did only deliver in look but also help beat the heat by allowing the cool breeze to reach my body.
The light wash denim shorts are from Kohl’s along with the navy blue weave belt. Both items have made a previous appearance during another walk. I just love how well they fit together, so of course, why not try it again? The floral lace crop top is a new addition from Hollister. It is not a very showy crop top since the lace does extend down past the belly button which is one of the main reasons I bought it. Crops tops are bold pieces however this particular crop top is softer and a great transition for bolder ones when the temperatures really skyrocket. As for my sandals, I am not sure where those are from. I have had them in my closet since senior year of high school. If I had to guess, they were probably thrifted by my mom and given to me because they didn’t fit her feet.
Central Park was amazing though, but I will admit very crowded. So many wedding photos, and picnics! Plus a lot of painted turtles sunbathing. I guess we all had the same idea of how to enjoy a beautiful day. 🙂
Of course, I have to slip in some yoga poses in there, you know like every yogi. Haha. I guess I was just really excited to be out and about. Mind you I still have three different assignments due for graduate school next week. But you know fresh air is kinda necessary, right?
Here’s to another park adventure! Soon it will be summer and off we will be having some beach adventures!
Till next time!
What better way to spend an overcast Sunday than at the movies? Well, that is exactly what friends and I did today. Can you guess which movie?
Haha, that’s my most fiercest Wonder Woman pose. (Still working on the fierceness.)
I decided to keep it casual today with colors that represented none other than Wonder Woman. Gold, red, and blue are complimentary colors and also the main colors on Wonder Woman’s costume.
I paired a deep red sleeveless shirt from H&M over a navy blue tank top from Uniqlo. The jeggings, from Abercombie & Fitch, added the casual feel to the outfit and kept the blue undertone going. The golden earrings from Clarie’s were my central piece that brought the whole outfit together. As for my shoes, of course, I went with my golden flats from DSW once more. (I might need to buy new shoes.)
Though my outfit was very casual and simple this weekend, I had a lot of fun creating it. Hopefully the nicer the weather gets the more experimental I can be with my outfits. I rebuild my wardrobe with many pieces, which I am excited to try out this summer. 🙂
Hope y’all had a wonderful weekend and as always–till next time!
The weekends just keep on getting better. Sunday ‘s temperature in the afternoon was wonderful despite the wind.
I am in graduate school, so Sundays are usually my homework days but I couldn’t resist the suggestion to walk through High Bridge Park. I had only been there once before, during the winter. Of course, I needed to see it again under better conditions plus taking a mental break from school work is definitely beneficial.
My pairing for this stroll was simple yet comfortable. I paired a light-wash denim shorts and a thin white peasant blouse. Both pieces just blend together creating the perfect outfit that will keep you cool and comfortable through a windy and warm walk. My blouse is very long and wide, so I tucked the shirt in and added a darker belt to not just keep my shorts up but also to add a contrasting tone to make the top and bottom pop out. For my shoes, I decided to sport my gold flats once more to keep the overall look soft.
The blouse is an old timer piece from H&M that has been in my closet for years as well as my gold flats from DSW and navy blue belt from Kohls. My shorts, on the other hand, are a new addition! I bought them two weekends ago at Kohls, and this weekend was their first time out!
Hope everyone has had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. Here’s to more weekend adventures to come.
Till next time! 🙂
Yay! Finally a sunny weekend day, where I am not wearing tights and sweaters. 🙂 Sunday was the perfect day to be outside and the day I finally got to try out this pairing. It’s unusual, but I love it!
I love floral and flannel patterns. This pairing idea has been circling in my head for weeks. After I found this floral print dress at Old Navy, it really sealed the look together for me. As for the cardigan, it from Kohls and it’s usually my go-to cardigan for dresses or tank tops.
Both patterns are bold, but I believe that’s why they work well together. The white streaks of the flannel compliment the floral print causing the dress to just pop out immediately. Yet, the flannel pattern gives the look an overall casual feel. Rather than the flannel and floral pattern “battling” for the attention, the flannel just blends in with the dress. My choice of shoes needed to be simple to really pull this off. So I went with my gold flats from DSW, which look more nude than gold.
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend! Let’s hope for more sunny and warm weekends to come. Till next time. 😀
Saturday showers in New York are beautiful. I may not be the rain’s biggest fan but I love the sound of the rain tapping against my window. It is comforting and usually the best day to curl up at home with a cozy blanket and book. However, this weekend was also mother’s day weekend, so I travelled to Westchester to spend some time with my own mama.
Out came my favorite grey leggings once again this weekend along with my favorite rain boots! Finding the perfect rain boots was essential to me. I wanted both comfort, functionally and style. I tried on many different boots before I came across my blue and pink Kamik boots at DSW about 3 years ago and just simply fell in love. They fit perfectly, don’t feel bulky and have a soft felt in line.
Since my boots were the centerpiece of my outfit, I decided to keep my top simple with a knitted white sweater from H&M. The white lace rim of my sweater popped out due to the day grey of my leggings but also added a soft touch that compliments the boldness of my rain boots.
Have a lovely weekend and a Happy Mother’s Day for all those beautiful, hard working mamas out there!
I feel like rainy days are always the most challenging days for outfits. I want functionally in my pieces along with comfort. In NYC, we had many rainy and cold days. Today was no exception.
For rainy days, I like to keep my outfit very minimal yet cozy.
I wore a pair of grey leggings with brown riding boots for my bottom. I wanted to keep my feet cozy as well!
For my top, I paired and layered a plain olive green tee, grey knit sweater and a black rainproof windbreaker jacket. Layering for me is key in such windy spring weather, especially for a day around the town. I added a gold and black scarf to complement the olive of my shirt and my coat as well as keep my neck warm.
But to really top of my outfit, I decided to use my floral Aldo bag, with the hopes that spring sunshine and weather will one day be more frequent.
Have a wonderful and warm weekend!
